I have had the pleasure of watching this beautiful little boy grow up over the last year. I remember the exact moment I got the call that he had entered the world – a full 12 weeks before his due date, freaking everyone out. I was at the hospital within a few hours to be with his mommy, one of my closest friends in the world, and had the chance to visit Bowen and take a few pictures of that tiny, sweet boy. Amanda and Ben have been on an amazing journey over the last 12 months as they’ve watched God’s faithfulness rain down on their son through milestones, hurdles, and the occasional setback. Through it all they’ve proclaimed His glory and watched Bowen grow into an adorable young man.
Each month for the last 12, I’ve taken photos of Bowen – sometimes just him, sometimes of him and Mommy snuggling in their room, and an occasional family shoot. Ben and Amanda’s love has grown in such a beautiful way as they’ve faced challenges and joys and it’s been so much fun to meet up with them regularly and see the way their relationship has stood the test and come out so strongly on this side of a hard year.
Last Sunday we met up in West Knoxville to take the 1-year pictures of sweet Bowen. They came with tons of fun props and we got ready to brave the chilly weekend and take some beautiful photographs of their little man. I have to say, this kid smiles hilariously at his mommy and daddy but has learned quickly how to be camera shy, so the few smiles I caught were greeted with cheers and laughter as we tried so hard to get him to give me a big grin.
